Welcome Longhorns

I really liked how the Longhorns welcomed the new students (college freshmen) in front of J2. There are the cheerleaders who dance and the boys who sing a hymn, the Longhorns mascot who dances a little and and takes photos with people who come looking for him. I think it was just a little of what happens at Welcome Longhorns that will take place from August 23rd to 30th this year. Unfortunately I won't be here to witness this event, which will be the Longhorns' official homecoming event. I believe this is just a preview of what happens in August, which will probably be more exciting to start the school year. According to this link: https://longhornwelcome.utexas.edu/

All events are created to give students the opportunity to meet other Longhorns, discover campus resources, explore the Forty Acres and celebrate UT’s pride and traditions!” It still has the mascot that symbolizes Texas.

I was impressed by everything, the streets, avenues, buildings and houses. Everything was new to me, because I only saw it in movies, I needed someone to pinch me to know if it was all true. The streets were clean and everything was well signposted, the mirrored and huge buildings, the wide streets and everything written in English wherever I looked. I thought I was in paradise and I thought, "if paradise exists, this is one."

    At the airport we were welcomed by the Program's ambassadors who were already waiting for us with welcome signs and lots of applause. We were going down the stairs to get our bags when we heard applause and speeches and when we looked it was them, it was emoal and I was surprised by it.

When everything started

An ordinary day and my face is happy to be among those selected for PDPI 2024

 It all started when Google suggested a news story about an exchange to the United States of America for English teachers. So I read it and realized that I met all the requirements to participate, so I decided to invest in it. 

I completed all the steps one by one and a half without believing that my TOEFL ITP score fit the program. And that's when the dream began. I had already forgotten that I once dreamed of this, but during that period, after so much effort, I had already given up. That "I only believe by seeing" thing haunted me a lot, since when I get what I want, I always sabotage myself in the end. But when I arrived in American Land, relief washed over me. I relaxed.
